'The asana is not the yoga; the yoga is the residue the asana leaves in our nervous system.' Judith Hanson Lasater
Given these uncertain times we are currently living in and with so many people experiencing feelings of anxiety, what the world needs more than ever is building nervous system resilience. A deep listening practise to help cultivate a balance between stability and fluidity, strength and surrender. A sustainable Yoga, Yoga for life.
I attended my first Yoga class over thirty years ago, and at once fell in love with Yoga’s ancient wisdom and seeing how it applies so pertinently to our contemporary life. Whether consciously or unconsciously we all search for answers to the fundamental questions of life. Through practising asanas, pranayama and meditation techniques, Yoga helps us to return to who we really are, giving us the opportunity to respond to life, less from patterns of defence and more from a place of integrity.
I am a qualified Hatha Yoga Teacher and choose to teach a slow, mindful, breath-centred practise to strengthen and balance your body while soothing the nervous system. Through your Yoga practise your body reveals itself as it is; embrace it! My classes always place an emphasis on healthy alignment, moving you out of the thinking mind and into feeling. Listening to your breath and your body, taking time to pause and rest, as you manage your practice in a way that is most comfortable and natural for you.
Throughout the week you will find me teaching at Woolfox, set deep within rural Rutland, David Lloyd Clubs UK, Vivacity Leisure.and my private classes, located in the tranquil Pure Ora Studio Stamford.
I am also available for 1:1 sessions, an excellent way to build confidence, focus on a specific area of interest and to experience a session which is completely unique to your needs and requirements.
In addition, I host corporate classes, workshops and mini retreats.
